An interesting example of the prolific Czechoslovak book designer's work, unusual for the incorporation of photographic element. Josef Čapek (1887−1945) was a Czech graphic artist and painter who was reportedly responsible for suggestion the word "robot" for use in his brother Karel Čapek's famous play "R.U.R." He was arrested following the German occupation of Czechoslovakia and ultimately perished at Bergen-Belsen.

A curious humorous play by Kopta (1894-1962), a former soldier of the Czechoslovak Legions, which appears to take aim at Tomáš Baťa's shoe empire (the company is here named DADA).
