Essai sur les principes démocratiques : leur nature, leur histoire, leur valeur philosophique," by the French philosopher Julien Benda. Teige was a formative member of the avant- garde movement “Devětsil” and served as a key conduit for West European avant-garde and surrealist tendencies to the Czech Republic in the interwar period, in addition to his own prolific work as an editor, graphic designer, and theoretician.
