First Czechoslovak appearance of Sinclair's novel (first published 1920). An earlier translation, by Jan Jiří Kárník, also appeared in New York in the year the original was published. With an anonymous three-page introduction, presumably by the unidentified translator. The drawn cover illustration is also not attributed. The rear wrappers feature a list of other publications by this important Czech communist publisher, much of the output of which was confiscated throughout the 1920–1930s. Among these are other works by Sinclair, Clara Zetkin, Grigorii Zinov'ev, Lenin, and Bogdanov's "Red Star" in Czech. Outside the Czech Republic, KVK, OCLC show four copies in North America.
