Prague: Vydala redakce Názorná agitace, Vydavatelství časopisů MNO, [1961]. Oblong quarto (14.8 × 20.4 cm). Original gray pictorial wrappers; [32] leaves of portraits and biographical text loosely inserted, as issued. Very good. Item #P5773

Scarce portfolio of short biographies and portraits of young Czech men and women who died for the cause of Czechoslovak independence during the Protectorate. Issued on the forth-year anniversary of the founding of the Czech Communist Party. Among the heroes highlighted are: Stanislav Brunclík, Karol Černocký, Julius Fučík, Jožka Jabůrková, Edita Katzová, Kurt Konrad, Marie Kudeříková, Miloš Nedved, and many others. The publisher (Vydavatelství časopisů MNO) was founded in 1956 as a part of the political news arm of the Czechoslovak People's Army and the National Defense Ministry. The subtitle - Názorná agitace (visual propaganda) - suggests that this was part of a series, but we are unable to trace either this or related publications.

As of January 2024, not found in KVK or OCLC, nor at the Czech National Library.
