Tartu: Olion, 1930–1936. Octavos and quartos (generally 31.5 × 23.8 cm; vol. IV: 23.5 × 16.5 cm). Original staple-stitched decorative and photo-illustrated wrappers; ca. 24–56 pp. per issue. Occasional light wear to wrappers and spine; no. 12 (1931) with significant damage to wrappers and first leaf; nos. 11 and 12 (1930) with wear to wrappers; overall about very good. Item #P4360

Significant run of the Estonian journal of art, literature, and popular culture, full of information on modern Estonian art, theatre, literature, architecture, as well as historical essays on various topics. Illustrated with many reproductions of stage design and painting throughout, as well as with photographs of cultural figures, actors, writers. Also contains overviews of Soviet art, American art and mass culture, German art, Jewish culture in Estonia, translations of literary texts from other languages, information on cinema and popular culture.

A number of the wrappers were designed by Nikolai Triik, Anna Triik-Põllusaar, as well as by Jaan Vahtra, while many are not credited.

This run lacking 12 issues in year V (1935) and the sole double issue which appeared in 1936 before the journal was discontinued.

As of January 2024, KVK, OCLC show holds in various states of completeness at Nanterre, British Library, UCL, and Yale, typically with no later issues than 1933.
