Near complete, sequential run of this Viennese anarchist journal, which lacks only the last two issues (nos. 15–16, after which it apparently ceased). "Liberté" was the central organ of the anarchist group in Vienna. However, the group also ran a "telephone newspaper" based on the Swiss model, where the latest news was recorded on a tape and could be listened to with a phone call. A group of 10 to 15 people made daily changing recordings on the tape. The magazine mainly dealt with the history and theory of anarchism as well as current political developments. It focused on feminism, among other things. Ideologically, the most important antagonists were communism and the then-existing socialism on the one hand and bourgeois capitalism and parliamentarism on the other. Thereby ideological fronts were deliberately undermined. For example, in an article in which Jesus is interpreted as a “revolutionary” and “critical innovator” with “anarchist traits” and Francis of Assisi as a “repressed imitator” of this movement. In addition to the usual heroes of anarchism such as Bakunin and Kropotkin, excerpts from an interview with Foucault, for example, were also reprinted and provided with a short commentary. The French theorist was regarded by the Viennese anarchists as someone who pointed out “one of the most central weaknesses of the left”.

Issue no. 11 is included in duplicate, on different color stock.
