Scarce Czech typographic specimen book, published by Česká grafická Unie a. s., the Czech Graphic Union of printing and publishing firms in Prague. Founded in 1899, the company became a public holding in the 1920s and rose to become one of the most important publishing concerns in the former Habsburg territory. The former headquarters, located at Svobodova 161-1 in Prague, are now a hotel. The specimen book features a wide range of fonts both for Monotype machines and hand setting, and decorative initials. It includes Cyrillic, Gothic, and other types. Among the fonts are Garmond, Gloncester, Borgis Cushing, Colibri, Walbaum, Genzsch, etc. Inquire for further images.
