One of the earliest Dev tsil publications and the first book illustrations of 19-year-old Karel Teige, still fully under the spell of cubism. Suk (Suchanek) was an early Dev tsil member, and a close teenage friend of both Teige and Jaroslav Seifert (the latter’s classmate). This is his first book; in early Dev tsil fashion, his poems explore the city’s outskirts and discover there a creative spirit. One of 1200 copies printed. Vloemans 7. KVK, OCLC show seven copies outside the Czech Republic: at Yale, Smith College, Library of Congress, Northwestern, UC Berkeley, IISG, and SLUB Dresden.
