First and only edition of this rare volume of poems in support of the Russian Revolution and the violence of the Civil War, with striking Futurist imagery replete with references to aeroplanes, electrification, and spermatozoids. Mikhail Zenkevich (1886–1973) was a co-founder of the St. Petersburg Acmeist "Tsekh poetov" along with Nikolai Gumilev and Sergei Gorodetskii, who returned to his native Saratov in 1917 and was a volunteer for the Red Army. While in Saratov, where the present volume was published, Zenkevich also worked for ROSTA. In 1923 he moved to Moscow, where he worked as a literary editor and published many foreign writers in translation.
