[Berlin]: Frauenbefreiungsfront, [probably 1970]. Leaftlet measuring 10.5 × 30.6 cm, printed in red to recto. Very slightly stained; else very good. Item #55275

Presumably a leaflet from the early days of the RAF. It is claimed that the leaflet was distributed during Ulrike Meinhof's funeral. However, we have no reliable sources for this. The slogan "Es lebe Ulrike! (…) für den Aufbau der Roten Armee verkürzt den langen Marsch" (Long live Ulrike! (...) for the building of the Red Army shortens the long march) would have been rather out of place at a funeral, during which “murder” or “execution” were the main topics of eulogies and posters. In addition, the slogan “Long live Ulrike” from the “Women's Liberation Front” already appeared in 1970. In no. 62 of “Agit 883”, the slogan was used following the operation "to liberate" Andreas Baader: "Long live Ulrike! (...) Freedom for all prisoners!" Until this event, Meinhof was known as a journalist who had a resonance not least in the left-wing women's movement. Meinhof's participation in the action and the subsequent declaration on “Building the Red Army” (still without the term "faction") was associated with the “Women's Urban Guerrilla Colombia” in “Agit 883” and placed under the slogans “The struggle of the Women's Liberation Front in the metropolises” and “Women rise up!”. We therefore assume that the leaflet dates from the early days of the RAF.
