Third volume of poems by Fazıl Hüsnü Dağlarca (1914–2008), the prolific Turkish poet who published over sixty books of poems. Part of his early oeuvre, the lyric texts in this volume combine emotional depth with an exploration of larger philosophical themes, such as the nature of existence and the cosmos. It marks the poet's transition from a more loosely intuitive to a more structured and contemplative style. With a striking, understated cover designed by Ali Suavi (also Suavi Sonar, 1910 or 1913–1994), a painter and graphic designer who designed a number of avant-garde-inflected covers of the period, especially for works by Nazım Hikmet. Little is known about the artist, who also worked as a modernist photographer.
