French-language dossier on the history and present of training for professions in the Soviet film industry. It was written by the rector of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography, Vitaly Zhdan, who is also introduced as a professor of art history. One of the most prominent graduates of the film school was, for example, Andrei Tarkovsky. The dossier begins by explaining that the Moscow school, founded in 1919, has been training specialists in all artistic professions in cinema for fifty years: screenwriters, directors, cinematographers, actors, set designers, theorists, historians and critics as well as economists (specializing in the film industry). Film technicians, on the other hand, were trained at the “Leningrad Institute of Film Engineers.” The dossier provides an overview of the structures and content of the various training programs at the Moscow school.
