Both volumes focus especially on the destruction of churches and monasteries in the vicinity of Moscow, in cities and towns such as Kalinin (Tver‘), Kaluga, Mozhaisk, Borodino, Bogoroditsk, Iaropolets, Istra, Staritsa, Torozhok, Nikol‘skoe-Gagarino, and Yershovo. With numerous photographs showing the monuments before and after the destruction. Both volumes printed in runs of 3000 copies. Wartime publications are scarce in the trade.
