A scarce survival, these two volumes were issued as free catalogs and distributed to libraries and bookstores, with each page serving simultaneously as an order form, with fields for the quantity of requested copies and total price. The catalogs list books and periodicals in Russian and Ukrainian, most of which are political or historical in nature, with many books about the Komsomol, information for agit-workers, works on collectivization and education campaigns in the countryside, but also literary works by Mikhail Zoshchenko and others, and fiction in translation, such as works by Fenimore Cooper. Given the inclusion of many political figures later considered personae non gratae during the Stalinist purges, the two volumes would have been confiscated and removed from circulation in a systematic manner. The inclusion of so many Ukrainian titles also would have been problematic following the suppression of supposed "nationalism" by the early 1930s.
