Unusually designed and produced first catalog of Galeria Ogiva, which initially existed for only three years after its opening, but became a center of Portuguese contemporary art. The catalog offered here is a dense, comprehensive source of contemporary Portuguese art of the time. Each artist is presented in detail on brown glassine sheets with a photographic portrait. In fact, a precise lexical entry has been created for each of the “35”, containing not only biographical details but also a chronological list of exhibitions and other important artistic projects. In addition, each entry has an additional page on which outstanding works are reproduced. The wide variety of artistic genres is striking. In addition to painting, drawing, sculpture, and photography, there are also sculptural and painterly collaborations with architects, for example on façade designs. The large number of kinetic experiments depicted, as well as works from the context of conceptual art, is striking. With its imaginative use of printed cardboard, wrapping paper, glassine and strong art paper, as well as its unusual bookbinding solution, the catalog itself is an interesting, innovative book art object that is unparalleled in the catalog genre. In this example, the catalog is itself an artist's book.
