A portfolio with attractive color illustrations of fossils found on the territories of the USSR, with basic information about the geological history of the Earth and the development of life in the Phanerozoic. Designed for use in schools, the illustrated cards were to be used during geography lessons. Little is known about the author, Viacheslav Malinko, who authored dozens of books and textbooks for children and young adults such as “How Old is Mother Earth?”, “Why Does it Rain?”, and “The Job of Wind in the Dessert”. The author also published books with the "Bezbozhnik" (Godless) publishing house, such as “Earthquakes and Belief in the Underworld”, which were part of the Soviet campaign to discredit religion and superstition, by promoting the study of science. The last publication by the author appered in 1941.
