Published by the Union of Czechoslovak Mathematicians and Physicists, this historical and theoretical work on color was authored by Czech painter F. X. Böhm (born 1890, year of death unknown). Böhm studied at the Academy of Fine Arts (AVU) in Prague and was active as an artist as well as a high school art teacher in Prague, Šumperk and Třeboň. Böhm reviews numerous systems of color harmony, in great detail, but without proposing a new system of his own. The book is primarily intended as a guide for teachers of art and art practicioners. One of the reproductions shows (in black and white) a school exhibition dedicated to "color and harmony".
A scarce Czech contribution to the study of color. As of August 2024, KVK, OCLC show no copies shown outside the Czech Republic.
