A curious compilation of anti-establishment songs, compiled and published by Ludvík Vaculík (1926–2015), the writer, journalist, and publisher who was an important signatory of Charter 77 and best-known for his monumental "Czech Dream Book," which captures the stifling and often repressive “Normalization” period under Gustáv Husák. Vaculík also operated the “Edice Petlice” samizdat publishing operation from 1972, which issued many important works of the period. Vaculík proposes that the songs in the present volume, which reveal continuity with Czech folk culture, be used during mass manifestations and demonstrations in the year of the Velvet Revolution.
As of November 2024, KVK, OCLC only appear to show a photo-reproduction of this original edition, at Toronto.
