First and only edition of this rare "anti-fascist" anthology of poems, scarcer and less well-known than a more extensive 1936 anthology issued on the occasion of the Spanish Civil War. The present volume was apparently a reaction to the Nazis' rise to power in 1933, as well as Italian Fascism. Published by the "literary brigade" of the journal "Mladá garda" (Young guard), which included Ilja Bart, Jan Dolina, Milka Hašková, Milan Jareš, Franta Nečásek, and Jirka Solvin. among the poems are texts titled "A greeting to the German Komsomol" and "The Czech Hitler." With caricatures by famous illustrator and caricaturist František Bidlo and overall typography and graphic design by Karel Teige. Egon Erwin Kisch wrote the preface.
Not in Vloemans.
As of January 2024, KVK and OCLC show copies at British Library, Regensburg, Getty, and IISG (only one copy in North America).
