Scarce anthology of "proletarian and revolutionary" poetry and prose by German writers, edited by German Communist writer and journalist Karl Grünberg, who co-founded the Bund proletarisch-revolutionärer Schriftsteller in 1928. His works were on the list of books targeted by the Nazi book burnings and he was later sent to a concentration camp. The book contains works by, among others, Hermann Schatte, Karl Liebknecht, Thomas Ring, Paul Körner, Heinz Dopslaff, Emil Ginkel, Hans Marchwitza, Emma P. Dornberger, Johannes R. Becher, Berta Lask, Erich Steffen, Karl Albert Tschudi.

The publisher, Tsentrizdat, or the Central Publishing House of the Peoples of the USSR, was active from 1924 until 1931 and published books and periodicals in a wide range of languages spoken in the Soviet Union's various republics and autonomous regions.

Striking constructivist-inspired wrappers by Georgii Ivanovich Fisher (1906–1978), with his monogram to lower left corner. Little is known about the artist, who also designed five Yiddish editions of works by Leib Kvitko published in Kharkiv.

As of December 2023, KVK, OCLC only show the copies at Sheffield and Akademie der Künste, with none in North America. The German National Library in Leipzig only holds a photocopy.
