Exhibition catalog for an event entitled "On Nothing,"inspired by John Cage's lecture, and held at the famous Galeria Foksal in Warsaw. Gostomski (1932-2017) was a Polish painter, actor, and photographer, and one of the co-founders of Galeria Foksal. The gallery was founded in 1966 by contemporary artists and former members of the Polish constructivist group of the 1920s. It was intended as a non-commercial space, and operated in a nonofficial way, managing to stage numerous exhibits of avant-garde and neo-avant-garde art, including action art and happenings, sometimes by artists of international repute, in spite of the limitations of the communist regime.
