Complete yearly runs (of the first three years) of the first Soviet radio journal published bi-weekly by the Association of Radio Amateurs (Obshchestvo radioliubitelei). Founded in August 1924, the Association of Radio Amateurs released the first issue of this journal in September. The opening issue announced: “It is not an accident, but a characteristic fact that the first amateur radio magazine in the USSR arose from the depths of the workers’ trade unions. It is enough to look at the illustrations of any foreign magazine to be convinced that radio there is, first of all, the property of the wealthy segments of the population. The one who is the master of life, enjoys the benefits of culture. It is not surprising, therefore, that in our country the love of the radio comes first of all from the worker youth.” A photograph of Lenin’s letter, in which he referred to the emerging radio technology as a “newspaper without paper and distances” appears alongside the statement, promoting radio as a tool of political education and propaganda. The Association of Radio Amateurs was re-named Association of Friends of the Radio (Obshchestvo druzei radio: ODR) in December 1924.

In the USSR as in other countries, the development of the radio as a technology and institution depended on the tinkering of amateur radio mechanics. As a volunteer-based organization, the OR and later ODR was "charged with marshaling the efforts of radio amateurs," from organizing clubs, lectures, and educational workshops, to publishing а periodical and other literature for radio amateurs. In 1925 there were over 500 amateur radio clubs in Moscow alone, with 13,000 members in amateur clubs in Leningrad. By 1928 the ODR counted about 170,000 members in its ranks. With the efforts of these amateur builders, 70 percent of Soviet radios were home-made. In addition to "Radioliubitel’" (Radio amateur, 1924–1930), the ORD published “Radio vsem” (Radio for all, 1925–1930), and "Radiofront" (1930–1941).

As of October 2024, KVK, OCLC only show scattered issues at IISG Amsterdam.
