Catalog of the forty-fourth exhibition of the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions, known as the Peredvizhniki. The group had seceded from the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts in 1863 over a lack of socially aware and edifying art in Russia, and its exhibition served this goal, aided in part by the patronage of P. M. Tretiakov. The present catalog lists 313 exhibited works and contains 52 black-and-white reproductions on coated stock, with protective tissue guards. Among the participating artists were V. E. Makovskii, Ilia Repin, and M. Shemyakin. KVK, OCLC show the copies at Brown and Getty only.
