This book by Ukrainian poet M. Eizler was dedicated to Alexander Blok, who had died in August 1921. Eizler wrote short, mostly elegiac lyrics, many of which are infused with an emigre's nostalgia and describe the French countryside or the cold urban landscape of European cities. A rather lovely bibliophile edition, especially given the strained financial circumstances of the Russian emigre community so shortly after the post-Revoluiton exodus. Front wrapper illustrated in light orange and green, with publisher's mark on the back. Curiously, it was printed at the typography of the Mechitarist congregation in Vienna, in a run of 3000 copies (according to the colophon, which also states the date of printing as November 1921). KVK, OCLC show eight copies. Not in Savine. Alekseev 76.
