Berdiaev here presents a vigorous rebuttal to Soviet anti-religious propaganda, in particular the claim that Christianity breeds passivity and submission. In an interesting take, he deconstructs the supposed "activity" underlying Soviet industrialization and modernization as a mechanized, soulless labor.
